still life (2006)
the nape of the world
is
dressed in earthy brown
feet bathed in chocolate streams
hibiscus lips
leave impressions
in
mountains
the clean canvas of sky
is golden matte
applied with
hazy eyeshadow
colors
rusts
rubies
stardust
sages
purple peacocks
the bare curve of the
valley is
draped in swimming
shimmering gowns
of waters
that mirror stars
the wry grin
of a lulling wind
as it catches
glimpses of itself
a
bride
on a bed
of brie
and
baby's breath
we take in
the beauty of
night
on the neck
and behind the knees
as the world
gets ready
for
love
