I lean into the sloping curve
of a naveled nexus
and lick
bitter
sweet
fruit
salty, like lime on the lips
of a glass
where the drink has taken
inroads
to the human valley
somewhere between heaven and earth
it is
the in between
that gets me every time
the sin and the reconciliation
the love and loss
the faith and fear
