Retrospect 1995
I wish I had enjoyed
Held on tighter
Kissed longer
Questioned more
Laughed louder
Listened harder
I wish I had stopped
Fighting so hard and pushing so fast
To have my two minute
Twinkle
On stage
Left with lovely longing
Memories
Silken, shifting, stockings
Into a pile at the feet
Of the dancer
I wish I had relished
in being eight
ten
twelve
sixteen
instead of counting the years ‘til
takeoff
Waiting for my bus to arrive
Imploring the NEXT BIG THING to blow my way
Chasing the ends of the earth
Only to find, that despite Columbus,
Time has an edge
